Circuit Superstars Points System
Weirdly enough, nobody seems to have listed the entire points ladder online. All I could find were documents on the official Circuit Superstars Discord about custom events, with most using an external points systems for manual tracking. So, here is the actual way it works in-game!
Championship Points Standings (All Modes)
So long as you have more than one race linked together it works like this, one race at a time:
Position | Points | |
---|---|---|
Qualify | Pole | 1* |
Race | 1st | 20 |
2nd | 16 | |
3rd | 14 | |
4th | 12 | |
5th | 10 | |
6th | 8 | |
7th | 6 | |
8th | 5 | |
9th | 4 | |
10th | 3 | |
11th | 2 | |
12th | 1 | |
DNF | As per Position | |
DC | 0 | |
Bonus | Fastest Lap | 1 |
When the race ends, everyone still connected to the lobby gets the points for their current position. Even if they don’t cross the finish line.
* Pole Position
Only adds 1 point if it is from a Qualifying session.
A point is not given to Pole Position if there was no Qualifying session for that specific race. If the series began with a single Qualifying session, that is the only Pole Position to give a point.
Fastest Lap
Always adds 1 point during a series of races. (Pole position is just the fastest lap in a qualifying session, if you think about it.)
Maximum Points
Winning the race with fastest lap and qualifying on pole position (if the race had qualifying) gets you the highest score:
- 1 point for Pole Position (if there is Qualifying).
- 20 points for the race win.
- 1 point for Fastest Lap.
Therefore:
- 22 points with qualifying session.
- 21 points with no qualifying session.
If there was no qualifying, you can get maximum points from any position on the grid.
Grand Prix Mode
110 points are available in each category of the single player Grand Prix career. They all follow this format:
- 5 rounds
- 22 points per round (Win + Pole + Fastest Lap)
- 110 points maximum (5×22=110)
It’s just a 5-race series where you qualify before each race.
No Qualifying
Rounds | Points |
---|---|
1 | 21 |
2 | 42 |
3 | 63 |
4 | 84 |
5 | 105 |
6 | 126 |
21 points per round because Fastest Lap still awards 1 point.
In custom events you can turn off qualifying entirely. The first grid is set randomly and later rounds follow championship points order.
Qualify Once
Rounds | Points |
---|---|
1 | 22 |
2 | 43 |
3 | 64 |
4 | 85 |
5 | 106 |
6 | 127 |
22 points in the first round as Pole Position adds 1 point and Fastest Lap adds 1 point.
21 points after the first round as grid order simply follows championship order. Fastest Lap still gives 1 point.
Qualify Every Race
Rounds | Points |
---|---|
1 | 22 |
2 | 44 |
3 | 66 |
4 | 88 |
5 | 110 |
6 | 132 |
You can get 22 points per round as Pole Position adds 1 point and Fastest Lap adds 1 point.
This is how the Grand Prix mode works but they are all 5 races. In custom events you can run between 2 and 6 races, each with qualifying, making the higher scores possible.
Is it really the same?
Yes. Finishing positions and bonus points work the same way in every mode in every part of Circuit Superstars:
- in every Grand Prix category at every Difficulty;
- whether single player or online;
- against AI or humans or a mix;
- and with any number of racers on the grid.
There are no points for a one-off race in this game. Points are not needed because the result is simply everyone’s finishing position.
Non-Championship Rewards (XP)
This deserves a guide all of its own. Here are a few things which aren’t included in the championship points even though they do appear as a kind of performance summary.
- Most Laps Led
- Just an XP boost if you do this.
- Clean Streak
- Counts the number of Restarts in Grand Prix mode.
Game Limits (December 2023)
12 cars on the grid and 6 races per series are the maximums in version 1.5.0 and all information here is from December 2023.
You cannot turn off the Fastest Lap bonus point nor the Pole Position bonus point.
Fastest Lap is awarded regardless of finishing position. You don’t have to be top 10 or complete >70% distance or even finish on the lead lap. It’s the same logic as Qualifying: who was the fastest for a whole lap?
If these limits are raised in a future version or modded, the scores might change.
More options might be provided for championship hosts in later versions. I think this system makes sense the way it is, though.
